Things to do
This beautiful spot is in the heart of Brittany with the southern coast and the Gulf of Morbihan only a 40-minute car ride away and the north coast about an hour and a half away. On the north, St Malo and the ancient walled town of Dinan, are both well worth visiting and the south coast has many excellent seaside towns with water sports.
At the nearby Lac au Duc (10 mins by car) there is an excellent mountain-biking circuit, an old railroad recycled into 53 km of signed paths and water sports are available all year (sailboats, canoes, water skiing) along with a 9-hole golf course.
This area is the homeland of the fairies, King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and Merlin the magician. It is believed that the remains of Merlin lie in the megalithic monument in the Paimpont Forest. The seven thousand hectares of this forest and the surrounding area attract many for its tranquillity, beauty, castles and abbeys. The nearby Lanouee Foret, is ideal for walkers and cyclists or for the family to have a picnic and chill out in the shade.
Zoos, dinosaur parks, animal farms, water parks etc for young children are all easily accessible and make for wonderful days out.
